What do I need to setup a Mac mini carputer?

I searched all over the forums, but couldn't find a default list. I also would ask what you guys would suggest to power it. Right now I have a 800w sound system, and my alternator isn't the greatest. My plan is to put the mini in the glovebox. I read about a USB switch to turn the PC on and off, and it was cheap. Is this a good way to do it? Thanks in advance for your help!

There's no such thing as a default list. You can power it with an inverter or Carnetix P1900. And there's a Mac Mini power switch in the mp3car.com store you should look at.

Here is a page with a list of items from our first attempt...

    http://www.rainydaymagazine.com/RDM2...uterDesign.htm

The list of options are pretty endless...all depends on what you want to do with the install:

    1. Just the basics (music, video, gps)?
    2. Do some research on car computing UI (GUI, voice control, etc...)?
    3. On the road internet connection (wi-fi, video conferencing, etc...)?
    4. Hardware research (IR night vision, video security for cars, etc...)?

    1. Power supply: Carnetix P1900 PSU. Here.
    2. Cable so you don't have to hack your power switch. Here.

The total will run you just over $100 including shipping. Works great.

No. The Mini requires 19 volts for main power and 13 for the intellisense wire to tell it to turn on. Inverter is the only other option.
