Post this in the Carnetix forums and Mike will help you out.

Other suggestion I have is to disconnect the power to the P1900 and then reconnect. Perhaps it just needs resetting. Glad the Mac is okay.

Did you check to make sure that the Energy Saver-->Options panel has "Allow power button to sleep computer" checked?

I also note there is an option to restart the computer in the case of a power failure. I suppose it's possible that the P1900 is starting the computer, then overloading and shutting down, then the restarting and the Mac restarts after the power failure.

BTW - Harmony is my app and it doesn't quite properly from the menu. You have to select it from the dock to make it quit. But I've never had it scramble the system because of that.

Hi bugbyte, I don't think harmony or iKarr were the culprits, in fact I'm modifying both apps as i write this. The Mac is working fine. I believe p1900 is the cause, just have to figure out how to reset it. I will look into the power settings. Thanks for your input, i should have stopped by your office and pinged you on this matter.

    cheers

Aah! You changed your screen name!

You should have dropped by. I'd rather talk Macs than do work.

I had a similar problem once. The Fan inside the P1900 had been disconnected and it is one of the cause that make the P1900 cut power. Every time I would start or turn off the car, the Mac would start-up, stay on 1 minute since the command is lock 1 min, then it would shut down.

I do not remember it if was a graceful shutdown (signal send by P1900 to shutdown) or just power being cut. In your explication I could not see which one you had either.

There are 2 LEDs inside the P1900 and, in the manual, there are many errors code listed. It will give some troubleshooting information. I know that is strange that a electrical problem would occur at the same time that you installed new software but since it is working well when not powered by P1900, you have to look more around the P1900.

    Hope this help.
