    Remote questions

i have an idea but i'm not sure how to implement it. Basically i want to be able to use the remote that comes with the http://griffintechnology.com/products/tunecenter/index.php as a remote control for my mac.

    First off is this possible.

secondly what would i use to get the mini to recieve the signal and how would i get it to understand the controls being sent?

I want this to be switched controlled meaning if the mini isn't being view on my touch screen the remote won't be controling the mini

Thanks for all your help and ideas

    Thanks & Gig'em

Have you seen the remote? There are no photos of it on Griffin's site.

The TuneCenter is not a Mac-attached device, so its remote won't control a Mac. You could use something like Keyspan's Digital Media Remote to control a Mac. If you prefer the TuneCenter remote you can create a Keyspan file to work with those IR codes instead.

If you use AppleScript to switch from displaying/not displaying on your touch screen, you could script the Keyspan software to work with the remote when you switch to displaying the Mac, and to stop working when you switch away from displaying the Mac.

The TuneCenter is an interesting possibility for those of us who have the factory satnav in a Mini Cooper. The only aux video input option for the built-in screen is composite, which is what the TuneCenter uses for its video output.

ATI REMOTE WONDER I AND II
I have a friend who use an ATI Remote Wonder with his Mac and it works very well. The remote has a lot of pre-define function and it is easy to add more application and function. You can do just about anything with it. Even move the mouse around the screen. Sometime, my friend use it to control his mac sitting in the living room watching his Mac on his TV. I think it is the best for living room use.

There is so many button that while driving you would have to look at it. Not good. I think it is a little big for car use. It's the size of a big TV remote control, You can see it at

They are four separate packages are available for the AirClick.

I have never used it. It is small but with only 5 buttons, I wish it had more, 7 would be great for me. The remote is small and you can easily use it without looking at it.

In the manual the mention many pre-define function for many applications
    http://www.griffintechnology.com/dow...irClickUSB.pdf
They mention that you can add application and function but I did not see how yet.
