I am just starting a front end for mac.
The basic features i want it to include are:
-iTunes (artist/song/genre/album) with album art including all playlists
-Movies/Music Videos from iTunes
Extras to add later: (in order of importance)
-GPS (not sure what software yet)
-Radio (radioshark maybe)
-DVD Player
-VLC video player integration
-Simple Picture Viewer
-Firefox Embedded
-Auto update when you enter your houses wifi signal
Please Comment/Suggestions
I will have the basic photoshop layout for the interface done tommorow and will post some pictures on here and on the site. I want to make it look very professional and classy. I'm making a day/night version.

Hey Hookid,
Looks like someone got the new iLife 06... Glad to see another person from Denver keepin' the faith! Keep us up to date on your progress... can't wait to see someone finish a new front-end for our Mac Minis.
Thanks for your work and good luck... anything we can help with, let us know!

also can you run mac minis in a car while the car is off, and how would you set it up so that it doesn't automatically go off with the car?, and that you have to push a button within the application to put it in sleep, also if you can't do this when you turn the car off would the mini just shutoff instead of going into sleep or what?

Hey I never realized you guys were from denver! I am too. When you wire up the mini it is possible to connect it to power that is always on (theres some abreviation for it I don't know) the overhead light in your car is most likely a good example of this. There is also an ACC line this is the line that is only on when the key is turned one click and what is normally used I believe.
thanks that makes perfect sense, i think i will do it like you did.Originally Posted by bcohen5055
