bennyek, they don't have USB drivers for touchscreen Intel Minis yet. I am about to try my xenarc 7" touchscreen in XP with bootcamp on my dual core.
hello everyone. I am a long time board reader and first time poster. I have been toying with the idea of a mac mini in the car. I am getting a 2003 saturn vue next week and would like to hear from anyone who has install a mini in a saturn vue. I am also trying to figure out which monitor to get. I would like to get the mp3car motorized 7" touchscreen but I do not know if it has mac drivers. Anyone know?
Thanks, I am excited to get started!!

Does that apply to all touch screens? I have not purchased one yet. I am not set on one certain brand. Anyone familiar with saturn installs in particular?
Buy one of the new Intel Pentium Process Powered Macs, you can then use a Boot Camp to install Windows XP on it, then its the same as any other Windows Install, Although id go with the Aopen Pandora if cheaper since its going to be hidden away in a dash most likly.

I would rather poke my eyes out with a stick than run windows. Even if it is on a mac. Thanks for the suggestion though
Thank God! Someone else of my mindset! I'm perplexed as to why everyone's so excited to run Windows on a Mac, why have a Mac in the first place then. It's been established (on these boards IIRC) that you can still get the blue screen on a Mac, so why run it if you don't have OSX?Originally Posted by bennyek

I came to bring the flame......lol.
Seriously though...whether or not you prefer a MAC to windows should be irrelevent to a carputer (unless you plan on using the carputer for something other than the following functions: audio, video, gps, pictures, radio, internet). The reason i say this is because most of the front ends out there make it so you don't even know that ur using windows. My front end, for example, makes me feel like im using an ipod.
I'm not all crazy into computers (installed this more for functionality), so i might not be understanding you're guys's passion for mac mini's. The way i see it, anything that lets me run a touchscreen in my car is my best friend.
EDIT: OH SHNAP...i just realized i posted this in the mac car forum...![]()

I see where you're coming from... However, I still don't see why one would want to get a Mac just to load Windows on it. When Windows-native boxes are almost as small, and usually cheaper, what's the advantage of having a Mac machine with Windows software?Originally Posted by 3onDubs
