    New Install Range Rover 06

I bought a new range rover and didn't see a need for a mac installed in my car so I've gone a few months with just the factory bluetooth phone, nav and touchscreen functions. I miss the mac in my car so I'm going back but I don't want to loose the factory functions. Is there a way to hack in and allow the mac mini on a different video source to still be able to have touchscreen features.

Also is there a way to run a script to have front row launch everytime the mac is booted. This is going to be my main interface with everything.

Also has anything changed with power supplies? Are we still using the p1900? Any suggestions of what I should do on this new install? I HAVE NO BUDGET!!

Im also interested in getting the same image on the my headrest monitors? Do i need VGA? do I need a converter? Please help me pimp this thing out!

If you want Front Row to auto load when OS X loads, go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES > ACCOUNTS, and click on the LOGIN ITEMS tab. Select Front Row as one of the login items and you're set.

Sorry, but Range Rover <> No budget.

Consider that an inverter costs $50. Consider that the P1900 costs $100. You're out $50 no matter what. That makes the marginal cost of the P1900 $50. In other words, it's not a $100 purchase, it's a $50 increase in the budget.

That should make you feel better.

No idea, but some enterprising people managed to do it with the Toyota Prius interface so it *might* be possible.

You can write an AppleScript that sends the keycode for the "Menu" option, then put that in your startup. Search around or go ask in the FrontRow Remote thread, i'm sure they can tell you since they do it

Also has anything changed with power supplies? Are we still using the p1900?
Is there any reason to mess with success
Mike does have a couple of things in the pipe though (like the MacPac so you don't have to splice your power supply cable.

Got it working thanks. i found this in the frontrow thread:

    tell application "System Events"
tell application "Front Row" to activate
    key code 53 using {command down} -- escape
    end tell

Works perfect. I saved it as an application and set it to autorun on startup YAY!

    Thanks for everybody's help.

What needs to be modified on the p1900 for the intel mac mini?

Also, refering to the "No budget" I don't care about cost. I was looking for suggestions or ideas to do to my new car computer and not be limited to the cost.
