new to carmac, help me out

Ok fellas here is my setup

    Powerbook g4
    Inverter
    Lilliput touchscreen

I have the laptop plugged into the inverter and the monitor plugged into the outlet in the car.

Here is what is going on, which I think is pretty cool, but not sure if its operating right

When I start the car, the monitor has power I just need to turn it on. Then the Inverter has power, I simply hit the power button on the inverter and the mac comes alive, music starts playing and the screen comes up. If I then turn the car off, obviously the screen goes black and the mac continues to play for a minute then goes to sleep ( I believe ), then start the car again and the whole process repeats!! SWEET

Now my question, does this sound safe, is there anything I am missing? I am kinda new to the MAc world, I traded a Dell Tower for a Powerbook with a black non working screen for its size it slides under the seat.

    Any suggestions? Thanks guys

Wasn't Carmac the fortune-teller character that Johnny Carson played on The Tonight Show so many years ago?

Seriously... Laptops don't like inverters. You're better off getting a 12v DC (cigarette lighter) adapter for the car and either hard-wiring it to 12v or leaving in the cigarette lighter.
That way you're not doing the DC-AC-DC conversion which is a waste of power anyway.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Sounds like a fine setup. I think DP's observation on using a straight DC adaptor is probably a good one, but basically what you have there is identical to if you had the system set up in the house and you pulled the plug out of the wall. Since it's a laptop, it ought to rely on the battery while it puts itself to sleep properly. That sounds okay to me.
