MacMini P1900 Fuses, Ignition, Positioning Quesions

Question 1: In this diagram http://www.carnetix.com/p1900/mm_app.htm
there is a yellow wire labeled "Ignition." Where does this connect
on the car end (remote wire on radio harness?) and does the
    p1900 come with this wire?

Question 2: I have a 4guage power wire running from my car battery to a
distro block which then provides power to my amp and the
P1900. Now I have an 80amp inline fuse a few inches away from
the battery terminal. My question is that the P1900 requires a
15amp fuse to be installed in the power line, but because my
power line is comming from the distro block should i install a
second 15amp fuse between distroblock and p1900?

Question 3: I am brainstorming places to mount these components. Does
anyone think if I mount my enclosed P1900 directly behind my lcd
touch screen in my dash (if i have enough room) it will cause
interference between the two components? I am thinking of
installing the mac mini under my touch screen about 4 inches.
With these three components so close together, will this cause
    any interference?

Tangent Question: If I have an inline fuse on each end of my power line would this cause any problems? Exe: Battery > power line (4in) > 80amp Fuse > power line (12ft) > Inline Fuse w/ amp and volt digi monitor. I obviously want to use the second inline fuse box for its amp and volt monitor as i think the fuse part of this box is unnecessary. If you just want to measure you input voltage and current, spend your extra $30 on the CNX-P2140 and use the PSUmoni2140 to make these measurements.
    Question 1:
We provide "pigtail" input/output connectors that allow you to attach to your ingition wire. You'll need to search for a suitable "ignition" wire in your car.
    Question 2:
In general, each time you downsize from one wire gauge to a smaller gauge you'll need to add a fuse at that junction point. This is to protect shorts on the smaller wire since it would burn long before you 80A fuse popped.
    Question 3:
There's no good way to tell without trying. Both units tend to be electrically "noisy", however wiring will be as important, or more important, than mounting proximity.

    1. that hooks up to the key ignition line. hook it up directly for best performance. yes it comes with all the wireing you need. you might need some extensions cause they are short, but yes it has it.
    2. yes put the fuse in.
    3. i have my P1900 about 10inches from my screen and 12 inches from my mini and i dont have any problems
Cant code cause I dont know how, but give me the paint bucket and my eraser and have at you!

Whoa! That is a sweet unit! I certainly hope the PSUmoni software is OSX compatible? Hmmm????

Or better yet, how about an Objective-C framework so we put the info in our own apps?

Even better! Mike, what type of USB device is it? If we can find a driver for it, we can access the device.

    Even more bad news
I talked to Mike about offering to write the frontend and/or framework for him, but the PIC he is using that does the USB communication doesn't have a Mac driver.

Damn. A few weeks ago I had to replace my battery and was thinking that I really wanted something that could help me know ahead of time that it was going dead. This really got my hopes up
