    Map Monkey crashes after a while

    Hi,

    i just discovered a strange behaviour of map monkey, it suddenly crashes.
    A windows system message pops up, telling me that due to an error mapmonkey has to be closed. (sorry, i am running the german version of windows, so i can´t provide you with the original message.)

    Everytime this happens, map monkey was running in the background, with centrafuse running in the foreground and AltTabber2.0 running as taskswitcher between centafuse and mapmonkey.

    From the time my system was started to this error... it took between 15 and 30 for mapmonkey to crash, in the last 8 attemps, it crashed 8 times.

    Any ideas ?

    Random PC freezing ONLY when Map Monkey 1.1.3 is running

    Have you seen that thread? Perhaps your error is the same.

    I have the same problem too. I think its due to my pc. I have an old PII 300mhz IBM 390e and 128 megs of ram, and it crashes if i have it running with Frodoplayer or Centrafuse. Thought it was the camera detection, turned that off and it got better, but still not 100%. Might have to do with the slowness of the pc.

    @wizawuza:
    No, i have a different problem. My pc won´t freeze, windows is still running stable. It´s just mapmonkey beeing closed due to an error.

    @kato:
    I don´t think it´s caused by your pc. I have a M10000 with 512 megs, should be enough for these applications.

    Everything was running fine with the betas, i got that error since mapmonkey final.

    Ah, i started to use AltTabber the same day i started to use mapmonkey final, maybe both programs can´t live together ?

    But... mapmonkey causes the error, centrafuse and AltTabber are still running.

    i keep getting the same error, it doesn't really point to anything, just that mapmonkey encountered an error and needs to close message. i can run map monkey for about 45 secs before it crashes with this message. from what i see, it's a cool program, but i can't get it to work for an entire trip. it happens if i restart, it happens if nothing's running. i uninstalled and reinstalled EVERYTHING that's associated with map monkey, the gps unit, the program, the maps, and installed the hotfix for v.348. i have an nvidia card, so i can't be from the ati ones in the previous post, and it can't be from a lack of processing, i have a 2.4g w/512 ram, so i think that's plenty to keep it running.

    also i read in another post there was a fix for rescanning the usb ports automatically for xp, if someone could, please post the link to it. thanks
