It's ridiculous, I think purchasing the maps is enough revenue for the company that makes Destinator.
Luckily my copy works.

Hmm, i'm stuck in the same situation. I recently got hold of the SDK thinking "WAHEY i'm going to have some working GPS soon". Darn it! Didn't quite work out that way did it. I'm getting the Destinator SDK not for sale message. Looking for a way around this. Hoping there is one. If anyone knows what i'm supposed to do I would be grateful. I've checked the posts here but am still a little bit lost. The verison I have is the correctly paid for version so i'm a bit miffed I can't get it to work correctly.
On a side note: when i try and load my maps i'm getting a "Your map is not registered, please choose another map" error. Have i missed something?
Suggest you give FreeDrive a try, it uses the same SDK, but as a different look.![]()
LOL, not really a convenient solution![]()

You can always go back to Map Monkey.
Let me see if I understand this, you paid $50 to who, the destinator people, for the development kit so you can write your own front end or run frontends wrote by others, and its expired?
When you paid did they tell you it would expire, if not tell them you are seeking legal advice and want a contact name for someone at the company for your legal ball squeezer to speak to.
sometimes works in refund situations, asking for a contact to be chewed up, as most people dont want to be that contact, or to drop someone else in that position, so a refund sudddenly looks the easy way out to them.
If you have a friend who is good on the phone and very serious sounding, get them to make that call as your partner/co-developer, and mention time and effort put in by yourselves etc and now all that is lost, and whats the view on compensation for that time.
To be honest with you Lez the SDK does work and it is NOT provided with any ongoing support or updates at $50. It has not expired as such, but is merely not being updated or released in a better version (i.e. one that will work with mapmonkey at the minute) as far as i know![]()
FreeDrive however (as i have now had a chance to check it out) works fine with the newest release of the SDK
SDK ->![]()
Plus if you think about it, it's not really worth your time and effort to reclaim $50 for a product which actually does what it says on the tin anyway.
I'm definitely not a lawyer and my knowledge on the subject is somewhat limited to copyright, but for my 2 cents worth, it works with freedrive and that's all we really need to know right now.
