    The phidget boards are very expensive, and they aren't supported by the best LCD software, LCDC

    sorry, but i don't understand what you mean?
    This displays use all the same way to talk with the computer?

    So what is possible to show on the screen with MapMonkey?

    Sorry for my english, but i'm not really good in writing english.

    The displays are different. I'd recommend matrix orbital displays for their quality and customer support. Also some models come with LCDC software, which only works on their displays. Its the most complete LCD controlling software available

    but if the plugin is ready, i think it isn't a problem to change it to the standart 4x20 LCD displays, or?

    Plugin isn't ready, but its very easy to do as NM says. LCDC works with matrix orbital LCD and VDF displays, 2 or 4 line, or even graphic (a bit limited, but yeh).

    that is a good findnig. let us know how u're progressing on it.. by the way, u plannig to have backlight?
