    Arrow Speed Hints

    Hi there,

wanted to ask how about integrating a speech setting which tells you the actual
speed limit everytime you enter a new road for this particular road. Is there already a tool or somebody working on that? Ninja?

    Best regards,
    Max

    .

The data isn't available yet in the maps so no this feature wont be avaiable for a while. NavTeq data/maps are starting to incorperate this data so maybe in the next 2 or 3 years...

Destinator has a feature where it can tell you when you're speeding, don't know if it gets it from the Navteq info or its own database but it is in there.

It's gotta get it from the maps! If it can tell you you're speeding, it must know the speed limit!

    Chris.

Destinator & iGuidance both guess on the speed limit based on the type of road you're on. Local roads are usually 30MPH, freeway 70MPH, etc...

Yeah, D3 then, as a logical consequence, knows the speed limits. I just tested it in my neighbourhood today, it knows even the smallest 30km/h-areas, the 50s and the 100s of course. So it should be possible to integrate???

    Regards,

it's based on road types, as i was told i was speeding, i was doing 40 in a 40 stretch of road, but it though i was in a 30 zone, as most of the road is 30, but it has small 40 zones, the biatch only shut up when i slowed to 30 rofl
