did that happen to be in a lexus?
I just saw a video of a stock gps system in a brand new car and I noticed how cool was the on screen keyboard while entering a new address was.
The keyboard only allowed existing address to be typed in by disabling keys that will result in an adress that is not found in the database.

Almost all OEM GPS units have this capability - BMW, Acura, etc. - it's a great feature.
So... I guess you're saying that most of the GPS software that Car PC users use don't have this feature?
Sounds cool, but not really worth the time coding for IMO![]()
Ol33l when you are trying to enter addresses and you keep hitting wrong keys and the key hit doesnt even match any streets, you will realize the time coding would be pretty well spent on a feature like this... this isnt just eye candy... it is actually a useful function... especially if you are using a remote control or other input device that is non-touch...
Anyways, what do you know you dont even have a carpc!j/k buddy!

i would love for this to work too. Also, i know in hondas at least the navigation allows you to enter stadiums, convention centers, concert halls etc as way points. so for example, you could choose baltimore, then convention center, and it gives you directions to the convention center. do D3, mappoint, iguidance or any other of the popular ones we use have this capability?
