The destdll.dll file that comes with the sdk won't read maps > 3 Megs in size. However, the destdll_08_05.zip contains a destdll.dll which allows you to use maps > 3 megs in size which is suppose to expire in august of this year. However, I changed my date on my computer to next year and the file worked fine, so not sure how it's supose to expire.

    Hi Guys,

Just received my copy of the SDK file DestDLL_08_05.zip from Rafiq, I am just discussing the ongoing situation with him now over the expirey status and future strategy etc.Seems responsive right now, I will summarise the conversation when I have some conclusions...

Looking forward to getting map monkey working properly tonight when I get home.

    Hi all,

below is the guts of an email conversation I have had with Rafiq on the SDk situation.

Although it is not conclusive, it does give me some faith that thing will shae out in due course.

    Read from the bottom up.

    Hi Rafiq,

I will stop disturbing you now!

I appreciate your time, and have faith that some form of solution will be available to licensed SDK users when this SDK DLL expires.

    Thans again.

The last email basically leaves it as clear as mud. It looks like they are giving developers the tools to create an application, but not a way for it to be used.

We will only be able to use Map Monkey/Freedrive or the such IF they release a PC version.

    Total crap.

Okay, if I set my time and date to 2006 on my computer the DLL still works, but does the GPS data also include time and date information? If so, they might be using this information to expire the DLL

If that's the case I'll simply spoof the time and date before the data gets to the destinator interface. It's not like anything in Map Monkey uses the GPS time.

Either way, people who have paid $50 are still going to have a working version after august. Poweloc/HSTC aren't getting away with that stunt!

Hmm, i originally bought Destinator3 because it said on THEIR website it WAS for PC\Notebook, lol there is even a picture of a laptop on the box!!
In my book i was robbed by them, they wouldnt even reply to my emails, in which i had screens of there "webvert" proving they misinformed me, all this time later and they still havnt made a real PC version, but they still taking our money selling us SDK,s that may or may not work in the future.
Anything short of a good working pc product given free to all the people who have been blatently ripped off by them wont redeem them in my eyes .
As you can tell im still p***ed at them , but only half as much as i would be if it wasnt for NM
