Prefered streets? Never!

Hi.. first Hi all

, i'm new of this forum
Well. Noo.. it isn't possible.. i've saw Destinator3 at my friend.. it's a wonderful program.. has all that a man can ask: best POI, 3D view, accurance, wonderful utility.. etc.. but hasn't a thing that let it be really util to arrive fastly to destination: IT HASN'T PREFERED STREETS! Can a navigate program no have this thing that is a primary thing? It can have all but if it plan a route (from my home to a near city that i know very well) that is more, more slowly (also putting Quickest mode) chosing a secondary street when, a primary (not toll) parallel street at a few meter, was available.. IS INCREDIBLE! i would purchase this program too, but is util a program that haven't this fondamental function? A program that let you only loose time? Is incredible.. Also Autoroute has calculated the same slow streets.. but, it has been enough simply to raise the preference for primary streets and to lower the secondary streets and, magically, has calcualted the right way!! I have no words for this lack!

Can somebody tell me something about this? Thanks and Hi ALL!!

is there any way to edit some .ini for orefer primary streets? Is possible that it prefer (also in quick mode) white street having a lot of yellow streets which pass parallely? It always does so in all planned route..

Ps. Dear Ninja, is possible to do something, instead, on MapMonkey

because Dest. hasn't rhis that do an util thing NOUTIL? Possible that nobody has seen this BIG problem?

I think it wouldnt work no... Destinator calculates the route, not MapMonkey, so it would need to have that...

And I dont think it is so important, so I dont think your comment that this is a "vital feature" is quite true...

Well I wouldn't call it "vital", but I think it's really important if it's something that you want to use. We all know D3 doesn't have the best routing, and having something like "avoid areas" or "prefer/avoid highways/toll roads/etc" would actually come in handy some of the time.

For example, I'm doing a trip this weekend down to MD and I don't know exactly where I'm going, but I know exactly the best way to get out of town. D3 on the other hand, feels like I should waste an hour going the way IT feels is the best. My choices are to put up with the constant nagging or wait until I'm out of town to fiddle with the destination.

It'd be much easier if I could tell it to avoid XYZ and have it recalculate before I even start moving, so I don't have to work on it at all once my route is set. I think MS Streets has something similar to this.

Well, if you know the best way out of town, just do your way, and then let it route from there, what is the problem with that?

Most GPS systems need to be treated this way... if you know a better way, you take it and then it re-routes you, no one needs to be told Turn Right, Turn Left if they know the way, it is useful for when you DONT know the way

(you know that,of course), but in reality I dont think D3 can support that....

)... I only had some perplexity about D3 and his mode to plan the routes.. that, most time, decided to do strange streets.. (with more time lost!) but.. ONLY CHANGING MAP WITH OTHERS MORE UPGRADED THAN D3 AND.. MAPMONKEY HAS TOTALLY CHANGED!! NOW IT PLAN THE BEST ROUTES!!! ONLY ADDING THE NEW MAPS!! WONDERFUL!!

THE SOFTWARE HAS CHANGED FORM NIGHT TO DAY!!

Now, only one thing, according to me, is very bad: the vocal messages. When it announces to turn left or right some meter (or miles) before the corner, it tells: "TURN LEFT... (and after..) WITH IN x METER.." this is.. very strange.. (and according to me, dangerous too) because, especially the person has thinking to other, and listens "TURN LEFT"

(and only after "WITH IN...") the first thing that one person trying to do is to turn... isn't the best way to announce "WITH IN... " and ONLY AFTER.. "TURN LEFT OR RIGHT"??? Only in this way, according to me, the driver don't alarm uselessly!!

Is there any way to let announce the program FIRST "WHEN TO DO THE MANOUVER" and only after "WHAT TO DO"? Isn't it the best thing?? Isn't atypycal to do the opposite thing?

Destinator can only ever be as good as the map data!

You can edit DestinatorVoiceManeuvers.inf to speak whatever wav files you like and in whatever order you like.

PERFECT!! IT's OK NOW!!! i've tryed it.. and now is another thing!! NO MORE USELESS FEARS FOR FALSE TURN LEFT AND RIGHT!!
