    Map Monkey doesn't understand roundabouts.

Is this a common thing or just my set up?
When using navigation in Map Monkey, it doesn't seem to grasp roundabouts. If I need to go straight on, it always says turn right. It just doesn't seem to understand roundabouts, which is very frustrationg as it means I have to look at the screen all the time to double check if it actually is turn right or straight on.

Also, often when travelling along a straght road, and approaching a t junction, it says keep right, which seems uneccassary and sometimes confusing as I'm just staying on the same road.

Are there any fixes for these, as unless I keep looking at the screen to double check (which is dangerous for obvious reasons), I find it's sending me off in the wrong direction.

    Any ideas?

I have heard these complaints before.... I dont think there is a workaround....

If there is an exit to the right on a main road, and you should stay on this main road (i.e. not go out to the right) destinator will always tell you to keep left....

As for the roundabouts I dont think it graps the concept of a roundabout and basically want you to turn "right" out of the roundabout instead of going "straight -through- the roundabout"....

maybe newer maps for your area eliminate some problems

These are symptons of where roads have changed over years,

ie a roundabout added to once there was a crossroads.

The priority of roads have changed ie what was once a turning off has now become the main route and the main route that was is now a side road.

These may not have happened recently either, it may have happened many years ago, but because the name of the roads are different the software thinks it is a turning.

Bear in mind the people who create the maps don't travel these roads personally so they may not know all the local nuances.

I see what your saying, but it does it on every single roundabout.

That's a problem with your maps

Some of the earlier 2003 maps have a bug where roundabouts will be ignored. Get the newer 2004 maps and all will be well
