Speedos on cars are meant to be 10% differnt to the actual GPS speed, if you are going 30mph on your speedo your actually going 27mph.
I have a Magellan Map 410 sitting right next to my Touchscreen. I have used it for years in past vehicles as well due to wierd gearing and tire sizes. I am totally confident in it's speed accuracy. My 944 has an inoperable speedo, so I use the Magellan for a speedo.
Anyway, Map Monkey seems to be off by about 10mph while going under say, 40 mph.. and occasionally continues to say 30mph+ when I am stopping/stopped.
I am also using Compass to split the Com port. Could I be getting some lag in the data stream. I am forwarding to about 5 ports.

Let me get this straight .. You're using the Magellan to drive MM, (and other software too, from what I gather) and MM is showing a different speed to what the Magellan's screen does?
First thing to do is to turn off xport and compass, and use MM to connect directly and see if you still see the same

VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda speedo's all over read by exactly 9% to keep them legal but it means you sevice them more often, don't keep them as long, and so buy a new one soonerA 70k mile car has only really done about 64k miles in actual fact. And would probably have had one more service than required.
