    Map Monkey Problems

    Hey guys,

I've been having real problems getting my Leadtek 9537 Bluetooth GPS adaptor running with Map Monkey 1.1.3 and Destinator 3. The device is connected via a Belkin Bluetooth USB adaptor. (And yes I've spent the last 3 hours searching through previous threads trying to find a solution )

I'm using the device inside so I'm not expecting any satellite connectivity, but no matter what COM port I change the device to or what program I use to connect to my bluetooth device, nothing works. The device is picked up fine by windows and installs without a hitch, but for some reason I cant get ANY program to connect to it properly or recieve data. Whenever I try in MapMonkey using the advanced mode it says "GPS isnt found". When I try finding it under the GPS status, it also says not found but when i specify the port and baud rate, it says "comport busy".

Can anyone give me any hints as to how to get this working properly, I'm getting a serious headache from fiddling with it for the last 5 hours.

    Any help much appreciated,
    Thanks.

I'm guessing the reason it's not working is due to the wrong Com port, wrong baud rate or protocol selected. Get SiRFDemo or some other GPS diagnostic like HyperTerminal app and see if that can connect.
So you can see if you're receiving NMEA messages or SiRF (NMEA will be plain text, SiRF will be binary so you'll just get random chars)

Worth a try: disable Use Advanced GPS Mode (under Adv GPS in Configuration). I had the same problem and it fixed it.
