Because sometimes when I loose the signal I get fed up waiting for it to reconnect automatically

Well you don't really connect/disconnect with your GPS. Map Monkey will either read or not read the data that is being sent by your GPS receiver. There is a certain signal level at which Map Monkey will consider you "connected" (or in other words have a GPS fix). When your receiver doesn't have as good of a connection with the sats it will report a lower signal strength. Sometimes it takes awhile for your receiver to pick up a good enough signal for Map Monkey to consider you "connected". Map Monkey isn't actually "disconnecting" when your receiver isn't getting a good enough signal, it is just reporting disconnected and it waits till it gets a better signal. That is checked every second.

Map Monkey has nothing to do with connecting or disconneting your GPS receiver. It only makes use of the data being sent.

This is like asking your TV to connect your cable when there's no signal. Think about it.

Or more like using a radio without an antenna. Move the GPS to where you get a stronger signal.

I have not moved my receiver from it's optimum position.
But since I installed a Blutooth receiver and Phoco I get more losses of signal.
I noticed also that when MM boots out of hibernation I get an "attempting to reconnect" message flash up on the screen, where the software is obviously trying to re-scan the sat receiver.
Something must initiate this, and that is what I am trying to re-create.
There are times when I have a sat count of 5 or 6 but the navigation will not work until the re-scan has taken place.
I would like to do that manually...rather than wait.

If I remember correctly you can click on the little satellite icon (next to the number of sats) to perform a reconnect

Hi, Shaun. Nice to see you around again.
Thanks for the info. I think (from memory because I'm not on my car PC)I need to pull up the info bar to acess that don't I.
Very interesting to see you might be updating MM soon with Powerloc's blessing ? Are you getting anywhere with that, because I just swear by your program.
    Thanks,
