i've never noticed it didn't do that. i suppose because you are never more than 200yds away from your destination with a postcode, they thought you wouldn't need to put in a house number.

Thats true but some postcodes without the house no, you'd be looking for ages in some areas esp if theres different turn in's (and where its to dark to see the house no's) to get to the house no like some of the areas i been recently, always used tom tom which would allow this, does make a difference, there must be something im missing in the settings some where

Ok guys, im having a blonde moment...in my main skin i have the following:

    B03,0,315,239,87,"LOAD;GPS.skin;!BarneyMainWndCls! Navigator;C:\Progra~1\Navigator7\PC_Navigator\PC_N avigator.EXE --window_border=no --window_position=0,0,800,529;!BarneyMainWndCls!Navi gator;Navigator",""

this will load an empty skin only. if i remove the parameters ( --window_border=no --window_position=0,0,800,529) , PCNav runs ok but its not right as the window is not resized properly. Am i doing something wrong with the way im righting the parameters? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Setting "Navigate to" from a external program

    Hi Pc-Navigator Thread

I look for a simpel API, to control the PcNavigator7 software.

I need to control Pc-Navigator to do the following:
    1) start "Show map only"
    2) Start "Navigate to adress"

    Regards

    Thomas Olsen.

    PC Navigator 7 POI's

    Hi All,

I would like to ask if anyone has had any success in editing or viewing the POI's that come with PC nav 7. I know how to import a csv file for speed cameras and create the .mef file. How do you view/edit the .mef files that already exist? I've spent hours searching the web for information with no success. It would be nice to import POI's other than speed cameras.

    Cheers

    Efful

Recently I received PC Navigator 7 with USA/Canada map. I finally got around to installing it and driving around with it a bit. I like it. I like the 3D look. I like the automatic zoom. It's a very nice application. A few features could be improved upon, but nothing that would be a show-stopper.

Since this one is pretty much the only discussion thread around, on the topic of PC Nav 7, I'd like to ask a couple of questions of others who have used the software more than I have:

    1) I noticed that when I enter a destination address while I'm off road (for example I'm sitting on a parking lot), the route will not be calculated. Not even when I start moving and I reach the road - the route will not automatically appear. I have to add my destination while I'm on a road. Am I doing something wrong? Are others experiencing this, too?

    2) POIs. I don't see a way to search for nearby POIs. I only see a way to search POI's by their name - but that will show them regardless of their proximity to my GPS location. Again, am I overlooking something, or is this the way the program works at this version?

I will likely have a few other questions that will pop up later...

    Thanks

I've been using Nav 7 for a few months now. I don't think you are missing anything, I have noticed the same thing. It can take anything up to 5 minutes to calculate a route.

As for POI's that is the way they appear to work. I'm having trouble showing poi's that I have added

Apart from that I think it is a good program

brodgar, thanks much for the feedback. I was driving while reading your reply, so to test again the above mentioned issue #1 I drove into the nearest large parking lot and set a new destination. It took a bit longer to calculate it, which I think was due to me not being on the road. I observed the program displayed something like "no route to destination" after I started to drive on the parking lot. I reached the road, and started to head to my destination while observing the program. This time I was more patient because you mentioned it may take several minutes. Indeed, finally it did show me a route - it took about two minutes.

I could live with this. Also the issue #2, the POIs, is not a big deal for me, as I use POI searches only infrequently.

So far I like the program. The map data is good. The routing seems good. The 3D-view with automatic zoom is likely the best looking out of any PC navigation program I've seen to date. This is a program worth spending time and effort on. It's interesting that no much has been written by users of the USA/Canada version, but then I guess I somehow understand - I only found I about the existence of this software few short months ago.

The carpark thing is a little annoying, but it normally picks up within a minute or so of meeting the road.

The POIs can be done, I found it whilst on holiday. It is not in an obvoius place...
