The OCX from mapfactor only allows you to draw a window of the map and do route calculation for integration into your own application, it is not an API to control a running instance of Pc navigator.
So i cant use it to make "gps software" like mapmonkey?
GPS harassment is almost an epidemic nowadays as per our customers described. There are many people that want to know everything about you. That includes where you are going. That’s why we need gps jammer that works to counter their efforts. :focus:
Not from what i have been able to figure out, i bought the big package to get the ocx with it, and only after that i figured out that i could only create a window with the map in it, and do lookups in the database to create routes on the map, but there is no actual GPS integration with the gps receiver in the ocx....so its a no go, some things can be integrated with the keyboard shortcuts in pcnav7, but definately not enough to create a proper integration.
Here is the window of the small application test i did, this was the primary things a could figure out, map view and db search, plus route planning.
whats the point with the ocx if you cant connect it to a gps?
I believe it is for building GPS support into stuff like geological survey applications and so on, stuff that doesn't need the actual drive-by-turn and such, but just coordinates and map views.
maybe gps support will come to the ocx, if it does it look very nice :yum:

The OCX kit consists of several OCX (COM, ActiveX, .Net) objects. (The terminology depends on the current Microsoft naming strategy.) You can select the objects and interfaces (APIs) according your feature needs, there is no need to occupy a memory with useless data.
This is current list of the components:
ocxMpvView - map viewing (interfaces: IMap, IMpvView, IMpvViewCoordinates, _IMpvViewEvents)
ocxMpvData - map operations (interfaces: IMap, IMpvDataInfo, IMpvDataHighLights, IMpvDataModels, IMpvDataSprites, IMpvDataTracks, IMpvDataFences)
ocxDbs - object info retrieval (interfaces: IMap, IDbsCategories, IDbsSearch)
ocxRtg - route computation (interfaces: IMap, IRtg)
The component list is obviously open, other components are to come -- e.g. GPS, map configuration, etc.
