    chill dude

Its my opinion....we all have them.

Its not that hard to make things look pretty in VB......maybe in the little time it has taken you to write this yes, but is it possible to do an excellent interface...YES.

I was not dissing you personally...Just said it needs a lot of work by my standards. Not saying I could do better right now either as I don't have much time to play with programming anymore.

I think its awesome you are making the attempt to even write your own software. But you have to realize my opinion was not a personal bash against you. I would love to build my own as well, but I have 0 time to do that.

Good job and I think you can come a long way from this release.

I dunno.. I think touchscreen beats all.

If I add mouse support, it will work with touchscreens. Assuming, though, that your touchscreen has a "Microtouch-like" mouse driver.

Sorry about that post earlier. I had just finished workin on a really complicated part of the program, and was really frustrated. I will try to clean up the app some and make it look better and easier to use.

If anyone can figure out a transparent listbox, PLEASE tell me about it. That would really help me out now.

    suggestion for transparent listbox

    CarComp-

I threw this together in a few minutes of idle time, so it's pretty crude, but it demonstrates how to replace the basic functionality of a listbox with an array of labels. Since vb can do transparent labels without api or subclassing hocus-pocus, this might be just the ticket. You could use the scrollbar control along with this, but it really wouldn't serve much purpose without a mouse to drag the thumb. Throw some nice graphical buttons or labels in there to replace the ugly ones I used, and you have touch-screen support.

To test it out, run the exe and type a directory in the textbox that contains mp3s (preferrably lots of them) and hit load.

Wow. That has to be the coolest thing I have seen all day. I was about to start coding custom controls.

    Thanks Phat_bastard

you're very much welcome, i hope it will work for you even though it's still a lot of code to change. in my opinion it still beats the heck out of buying / writing a custom .ocx.

now.... how about those feature requests?

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "Auto Hide Volume Display"...

I would be glad to add those features. It should be pretty easy to implement your code as well, because I think it is pretty close to what I am using.

You will have to do the testing for the support for creative CIMR-100 remote.

I don't even know what it is...

    try checking your email?

the auto hide for the volume display (playmp3 form) hides the volume display captions after a few seconds of volume control inactivity. someone asked about this a few weeks ago because it clips off text if you're in a playlist with a really long name.

the four line mod i sent you for the cimr-100 support really needs no testing - it worked perfectly on the 1.2.0 source. the only thing i didn't code up for this feature was a checkbox for the settings form.
