This was with the last version as well as the current:

When I play a divx movie, about 30 mins in or so (happened with two of my movies) the movie just pauses, not freezes but pauses, and when I hit enter it returns me back to the main menu.

Also, im not sure if this is my fault, but certain movie files arn't working with your program. Do you install your own codec's or are they machine dependant?

Would it be possible to add a progress bar to show the position in the track. To make it dragable so that people with touch screens can fast forward/seek.

I also think a button should be added to make it return to the main menu with out keyboard or remote.

yep fast forward and backwards.. like on your HU when you hold down the "next" button, or using left/right arrows in winamp

I want the keyboard start vis unshaded...

theres an easy fix escape will cut out of all visualizations i know of so make an extra keyboard button escape so it escapes out...

anyhow i am using a remote keyspan that isnt supported and keyspan has a nice thing where i use their prog to mapo the keys and I wanted to map a key to strat vis... so if it was unshaded itd be helpful LoL

More Touchscreen Buttons:
1. Volume buttons on all screens
2. Return to playlist button while music is still playing from player screen
3. Return to main menu from playlist screen
4. Change down/up buttons in playlist screen to pgdn/pgup buttons.

Fullscreen Video Playback

I don't like the title bar on the top and the "close window" button is too small and too far in the corner for touchscreens. If you could do a double-click (anywhere) to close window button that would be ideal.

Main Menu

Have options to show only those items that are functional or that a user wants. For example i never shut down the computer so I don't want to have that as an option on the main menu.

D-Link USB Radio Support

The D-Link seems to be the easiest to program for and a cheap solution. Source code examples are on their website.

I should really learn VB.

IMHO, I agree with az1324. Maybe if possible to have a touchscreen option on the setup that modifies the buttons to make them a little bigger or even turns them on and off. The reason for this is the people have don't have touchscreens probably wont want the buttons where as people like myself and az1324 do.
After thought: as a part of that selection in the setup, change double left clicks for a single left click so when driving you only have to select the part of the screen you want and not have to hit the screen twice.

Thought of one more thing. In Kazaa under "My Kazaa" you can browse files by type, artist, album, and genre. I don't know what kind of catalog they use but it's fast and it would be great to be able to browse mp3's in this way through Media Engine.

A few more observations:

1. No option to change color of border drawn around touchscreen buttons.

2. No option to turn off crosshatch.

3. Song Title And Artist should have a "Best Fit" font size option. Sometimes they overlap when the song title is long. Also, when you try to make the Artist text bigger it clips at the bottom.

4. It's pretty easy to put an equalizer in the upper right hand portion of the player screen where that mp3 logo is using the winamp plugin sexy attached analyzers like what was done with autoplay.

5. When you resize the up/down buttons they keep their new size on the playlist screen but not on the mp3 screen. They are resized to the orginal small size. Seems like it should be easy to fix.

6. Support for .png files for the buttons and the backgrounds. Transparency is good....and transparent .gifs just aren't as good.

7. Resume function for the mp3 player to pick up where you left off.

This is by far the fastest and most consistently progressing app that I have seen discussed on the board. I'm sure it will be in ALL of our cars pretty soon.
