Well I run my thang at 640x480, then was testing out the new viz options, and i set them to 640x480 as well, so there really shouldn't have been a switch in rez...but it did happen directly after I used the visualizations. So that def. has something to do with it.

Ahhh yes. The win98 woes. I am looking into this. It seems that my installers don't take into account the differences between windows versions. I wrote M.E. with WinXP, so natively, it runs well on NT platforms. I need to talk with some people about cross platform stability.

I may have located the source of the problems. WMA install and the installshield were overwriting everyones files with mine. That included ones in the System32 dir and windows dir. I have changed that now, so that MediaEngine only puts it's files there if they are totally abcent from the target directory.

Installshield was dumping WindowsXP dll files into windows 98 and millenium pretty much.

It should be safer now. You can still install the WMA support, but you have to do it manually now from the MediaEngine directory by clicking on the WMArunme.exe. If you already have WMA support installed (XP users) don't run the file.

Also did major updation to the movie player. Added widescreen / standard option in setup as well as an option to not show the top / bottom bars on screen.

Also added option to hide the mouse cursor.

    Download MediaEngine176E.exe.

I got this same error when I had my resolution too high. Media engine seems to not like resolutions above 1024x768.
