    TV control?

Is there going to be any tv control support in Media Engine? I currently have a usb hauppauge tv/fm tuner and using the software supplied with it. It would be really nice if media engine can be a front end and control this.

would be cool - as likely all actual tv cards are WDM of WFV driver based - I also have tv in car and i'm waiting for this function

I got some code in VB (only 44 lines!) that can capture and display TV on screen using the avicap32.dll supplied with windows to capture from any WDM card. Ill try it out when I get a minute.

Hmm, its a bit slow. Only displays roughly 10fps. I will have a look around for some better code. I would attach the exe here but you cant have attachments anymore.

Ok, so none of the code I have found in VB is quick enough to display TV properly. Does anyone know of a FREE OCX that will display the preview pin of WDM capture cards?

I had really bad luck with TV reception in my car using a USB ATi.

I live in the NY area also, so the signals are pretty strong I should suppose.

Even if I could watch TV, it would be only 4 channels.

I wish it worked better, so I took it out.

plus you'd have an awful time with reception while driving. I don't think any antena would get perfect reception. I have a tv tuner in my setup and I only use the tv while stuck in traffic or while tailgating.

On my setup, I get pretty decent signal while driving, I am using it through the same antenna as my fm which is amplified. While parked I get perfect reception.

phil, I hope you can get this done at one point, I really want to use my tv tuner in ME
