Media Engine 1.7.7.F using Creative Labs remote.

Ok so this problem has been buggin the living crap out of me. Its been going for over a week now. I even ordered a new remote on eaby still the same exact problems. I unistalled - reinstalled ME still the same problem. Changed comms port from comm 1 to 2 and still the same problem. What give? plz help me out.

The problem is that when I input or try to program the remot in ME, instead of doing what its suppost to do ei:
instead of stoping the track it will mute.
    volume up, it will mute.
colume down it will go to the next track, I got all kinds of whacked out errors.

plz any help on this matter will be greatly apreciated.

plz no "use girder" replies. I really dont want to use grider, cause I use ME full time.

    thanks for your time.

Try this wee app i made for my creative remote. The reciever has to attached to com1. It should tell you if its putting out the right signal. at this stage i haven't tried the remote with ME. i will after this post.
You will need to have the VB runtime files installed.

I see what you mean. i used the IRMAN option, it seemed to be the only thing that recognise the commands. But i think that the problem lies there. Are you using IRman or creatives reciever. I think that the creative remote needs to be programmed in manually, unless someone else has got theres to work.

I will have a go - i've got the current source code.

Well i tried, they way the have coded the remotes is beyond me - it seems too complicated for just taking a command and processing it.

So it looks like coding wise, the creative infra can't be used. unless you purchase a irman receiver or if carcomp adds the remote in (which would be a good suggestion for v2.0

HMMM makes me wonder, cause I saw Defilers setup run just fine. He was using the creative labs remote.

SO you did get the same errors?

I have the creative remote, and it works fine, (I assume you are talking about the one that is credit-card sized) The only way I could get it to work was to set the remote type to "Creative CIMR" and then choose the right com-port, works like a charm now,,
