MediaEngine Skin making

Ok, im in the process of making a skin for ME.

The 2 things that are making this process a pain in the but are

1. The skin maker program dosent run in a window. It only starts full screen.
This slows workflow down dramaticly and in my opinion is rude. Is there an option anywhere to make it run in a window??

2. Media Engine itself has the same problem as above, and also wont run if my resolution is high.

These 2 things are creating a serious workflow problem for me.
I have dual monitors and i run each at 1600x1200. I dont need to see the skin maker program fullscreen on one of my monitors, covering my task bar. I would like to have ME running the skin im making so i can see how it works, if i need to make the buttons bigger etc. But i can only run it at supported resolutions, is there a reason for the resolution limits?? This hampers multi-tasking big time.

How are other people making skins setting up your workspace?

These are issues we just deal with. I agree I like my screen res. a lot higher than ME will allow, and editing in PSP 8 @ 800 x 600 is anoying as hell. But I'm just glad to have a skin maker. Maybe a newer ver. will be released that will allow windows to work within.

well i have all my images done,

is there a better way to line things up once you get them inside Skin maker??
Snaps maybe? Keyboard nudge dosent seem to work.

Also after i bring in an image and choose the other image that goes with it, it seems like i cant change these images later, i have to delete the button and make a new one?

Is there a help file that comes with this?

Also, what does

"Main Menu Button Selection Order" mean, and what is it for. I have no idea what the numbers are supposed to relate to.

Is there a way to select and move more than one button at a time??

the first image you place is button 1 and so on. the numbers are for navigational use.

like the up one is what option you want if you are on a selection and hit the up arrow and so on.

still slightly confused, i assume this is for keyboard navigation?
Anyway, im allmost throwing in the towel, the skin maker program just isnt working out for me. I have all the images for the skin done, but i keep getting errors after errors when trying to save the skin, loading the skin in media engine gives me very unpredictable results (random buttons dissapear). This shouldnt be this hard!

If anyone wants to help me out, i can send you the skin and the PSD files.
Otherwise im calling it quits

yes its for keyboard nav.. its really not that hard.. every button gets assigned a number and then those numbers are how you want it to switch to for the keyboard nav.. or an up action with a remote.. or a right. from the playlist what do you want to make selectable if you navigate to the right

Ok, i get it now, normaly when you say navigation i think GPS.
So i dont have to assign those buttons to anything if i dont want to, right.

probably not.. i've never tried it

also the skin maker is very buggy. You might have to open up your skn file and add some font and color values if needed. take a look at a working skn file and you'll get the idea.
