From looking at the source code, integrating QuickTime support into Media Engine 1.7 would be quite a project...
.MOV is really the big one I would like.Originally Posted by Confused

One other thing...When scrolling through songs or movies, is it possible to have the highlighted bar stay in the middle of the list so it won't go all the way to the bottom of the screen? This way you can see the next few songs/movies in both directions.
AS far as i'm aware .mov (quicktime) is basically non-existant, there is no activex avaliable from apple for Win32 developers to use except for a NON-FREE one avaliable here http://www.skylark.ie/skylight/default.asp.Originally Posted by Defiler

We are, will have and forever will be...
But not tommorrow!
quicktime alternative installs a codec that can be used
of course someone will have to integrate support for it into winamp...

My next generation Front End is right on schedule.
It will be done sometime in the next generation.
I'm a lesbian too.
I am for hire!
I could I get a Nightime mode? Playlist support would be great. And maybe DVD support. And if you could throw in integrated GPS that would rock. Hmmm. Maybe at this rate the "people" might have ME 2.0 after all![]()

At the moment I'm struggling to get it so that when you go up a directory in the playlist screen, you don't go back to the beginning of the list, but go to the point you were last at. I've nearly got it, but not quite! [Edit] Got it working now! [/Edit]
I have also noticed a problem, not sure if it's just me or whether it will be with everyone. If you have "Resume playback from last position" enabled, as well as "Load to MP3", when you resume from standby/hibernation, it will crash out. I'm not too sure why, but if you disable either of those options, it will work fine. I'll try and sort this asap. It's annoying (especially as i'm at work!) cos it only happens when the EXE is compiled, and when resuming from shutting down, so it takes a long time to try and debug. Also, there's no error messages either, so I don't know what's goin on! [Edit] OK, I've added a couple of lines, it worked OK first time I tried on my laptop, but ME wasn't set as Shell (as it has been the last times I've had it happen. I have uploaded the latest EXE file, I would appreciate it if you test it and it doesn't work to tell me!I shall also test it fully when I get home from work in about 4-5hrs. [/Edit]

For those of you who really want to see quicktime in your car in MediaEngine or the other players that use WMP or DirectShow-based playing, you can convert your Quicktime to AVI or MPEG easily enough with Discreet's Cleaner. (That is a company and a product by the way.) .. Cleaner can basically take any input and produce any output.. This includes ASF and RealMedia files. It also does not care about copyright protection bits on the files (a real problem with trying to convert Quicktime files)..
It's really a fantastic product...
Uploaded latest EXE, which i HOPE has fixed the crashing when it loads to MP3 screen when "Resume playback" is enabled.
I hope!
Please test it and let me know if it all works or not!
