    ME 2.x and MS AutoRoute

Is there a chance to integrate Microsoft Autoroute support to ME? just by looking at it it looks just about the same then MapPoint. Almost seems to be the same product.

it pretty much is.. but there's no sdk for it so the answer is no. You can run it as an ext app though.

Thats why you pay so much for mappoint is the SDK pretty much and a few more functions to make it usable by people that want to develop on it.

It is actually possible to use AutoRoute (helps if your handy at hacking away at DLLs and have some good C++ knowledge). However, there is no official support from MS, and MS might also be a bit upset if you were to provide a solution that lowers their profits substantially ... part of the reason for no SDK is to force you to buy MapPoint for customization ...

GTC, which is why it can't be included in ME.

I know it sucks since you gotta get something high priced but thats just the way it is.

hijinks21 - Yep, I'm with you on that one (don't want to get into a ****ing match with MS!) - good reason for avoiding it; it's why I went with Destinator for my software. I've pulled apart pieces of AutoRoute/MS S&T in the past, but probably wouldn't consider releasing it without some advice form someone more knowledgeable about legal issues than myself !
