I tried programming the search button for my keyboard but it doesn't do anything. What right/left navigation buttons are you talking about? All I have is fast forward and rewind in the movie screen.

In the settings screen they're called Back / Forward. Post back if those don't work on the remote, I swear they worked for me when I tested DVD last. =D

As for the touchscreen users, the overwhelming requests to implement touch once = next, touch + hold = FFd / REWd have it. Might not make it into the latest service release, but we won't keep you waiting long!

    I'm on it!

    Change log?

Is it possible to see a change log as to what has been upgraded etc.

As far as I can see the only thing that has helped is the facility to skip tracks.

Perhaps I am jumping the gun, but I cant make it skip movies, I can make it lock up by switching screens back and forth, I have lost the ability to change tracks, no more GPS support.

I'm sure there is loads of new bells and whistles, in this release but I for one cant see any.

Anyone else getting lock ups on the <loading> screen while changing between menu's.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, Media Engine is by far the best software i have used for my car, but nothing seems to have changed lol.

I would like to see a bar perhaps that can be used to select anypoint of a track or movie, a slide bar.

Sorry to be a little negative, but I feel feedback is feedback

    Cheers
    Ron

<update> after installing in my car lunch time, and testing it on the way home, it does infact rock and runs very smooth, its not until you test it in the car that you realise how well it performs :P

on a side note, how do you get the VIS to work?

dvd vs movie vs audio ff and rw button functionality

I'm not sure if it made it into the manual, but here's how these buttons are supposed to work. This mainly applies to the keyboard / remote buttons as the touchscreen buttons are a somewhat different story. I'll do some work on them over the weekend so they can do double duty as has been suggested.

Be sure you have programmed these buttons in settings>keypress config and / or settings>ir remote config. Also, there are no default keyboard buttons programmed for ff or rw.

    *DVD playback:
one press on ff or rw buttons latches the dvd playback speed up. to resume playing at normal speed hit the play button.

back / ahead buttons will move you to the previous / next chapter

*Movie playback (files on hdd or cdr):
ff and rw buttons do not latch, must hold them down. movie playback will be very choppy during ff/rw if you're playing large movies.

back / ahead buttons will move you to the beginning of the previous / next movie in the list (if there are any)

    *Audio playback:
    same as Movie playback
