same here. was really looking forward to seeing milkdrop....
bump - anyone know?
Am i doing something wrong with the Visualizations in the latest ME.
I've downloaded several dll vis's and placed them into the Plugin directory under MediaEngine2.0.
I then go to the Vis tab in setup and select the dll. I then play some music and click on the vis button but I just get a black screen. This happens with everysingle vis I have tried.
Any suggestions?

Try launching the vis first with just winamp. Then use m.e to launch it.

milkdrop - did run fine with winamp, however with m.e it does the black screen thing.Originally Posted by CarComp
could this be due to the new version of winamp? (5.x i believe) should we just run older versions for simplicity? (maybe 2.x, or 3.x?)
are you running the winamp version in the ME dir?

ok, whilst attempting milkdrop, during when the screen is black, i alt-tab'd it and indeed milkdrop is running (windowed, not fullscreen). if you click anything, m.e. comes back foreground with the black screen.

Use the version of winamp thats included with mediaengine. Winamp 5.0 is nice and all, but m.e is not designed to work with it. Try using the original winamp. I've used Tripex, R2 Extreme, Geiss, and Milkdrop successfully with the included version of winamp.

i did open milkdrop first in 5.x - lol - oopsy.
BTW, whenever you delete your winamp.ini file, all of your plugins get "un-set". MediaEngine WILL automatically re-set these to the defaults by creating a winamp.ini file itself (winamp will do this if you open it without opening m.e AND there is no file in the dir already) so watch out.
If you have winamp troubles with any specific plugin, or winamp working with m.e in general, do this...
1. Make sure you use the version of winamp that comes with MediaEngine.
2. Delete your winamp.ini file.
3. Launch MediaEngine
4. Close Mediaengine. Open winamp. Right click the taskbar and go to Winamp/Preferences. (Don't use Show main window or you will see it all the time in m.e)
5. Set up your plugins.
6. Close Winamp.
7. Launch MediaEngine
