I think that a cdrom reader will jump and skip as hell in a car, honestly
But some ripping software from cd o mp3 as a external app would do the job
What's the best way to play files from a cd in Media Engine (off the hard drive not off the CD)
I tried to copy them to the hard drive using Windows Media Player, but Media Engine couldn't read them cuz they were *.wma format. I tried copying them straight off the cd...that didn't work.
Whats the best way to get them onto my computer so that Media Engine will recognize them.
Thanx!

the best way to do it would be to rip (encode) the music on to your computer. there are a ton of different formats out there, some better suited for different things. the most common is mp3, and very easy. If you really want quality then i would recommend a lossless format like FLAC, or OGG Vorbis, but with these format types you are going to be using more like 7 meg/minute as opposed to only like 1 meg/minute for mp3
if your using mediaengine you should be able to play the wma files in it. in the configuration for it, you just need to add wma as a suppported extension
