    Serial Commands with MediaEngine

    Is there any way to program mediaEngine to send/recieve serial commands when certain buttons are pressed?? Im trying to interface my computer with a microcontroller so that I can control windows, sunroof, etc as well as recieve commands from the steering wheel controls. Any help would be appreciated.

    Write a program that, when executed, opens the serial port, sends the command, then closes it and exits. Use the external apps functionality in MediaEngine to run that program on demand.

    You could even save time by writing the program to take the command-line argument and send THAT to the serial port.
