    Changing The Interface

    Is there a way to change or remove the XM/FM buttom and the watch movie buttom from media engine? I have no programming skills so I am hoping for something simple and I'd love to use media engine

    It is all in the skin.
    For instance, if you use the skin Torque ,
    edit the file Torque.skn in the skins subdirectory of media-engine.
    To remove the WatchMovie button delete the lines;

    [MenuIcon3]
    IconLeft=0.01269531
    Icontop=0.4049479
    IconWidth=0.4296875
    IconHeight=0.1106771
    Function=3
    IconPictureSel=watchmoviessel.jpg
    IconPictureUnSel=watchmovies.jpg
    of_left=2
    of_right=4
    of_above=2
    of_below=4

    To remove the Radio button remove the lines;

    [MenuIcon5]
    IconLeft=0.01464844
    Icontop=0.609375
    IconWidth=0.4248047
    IconHeight=0.1067708
    Function=5
    IconPictureSel=radiosel.jpg
    IconPictureUnSel=radio.jpg
    of_left=4
    of_right=6
    of_above=4
    of_below=6

    If you remove those lines, don't forget to change the line in
    section [NumberofIcons] from

    count=6 to count=4

    Also change the line ;

    Names=MenuIcon1 MenuIcon2 MenuIcon3 MenuIcon4 MenuIcon5 MenuIcon6

    to

    Names=MenuIcon1 MenuIcon2 MenuIcon4 MenuIcon6

    To let the cursor navigation work, you alse must change the
    of_left= , of_right= , of_above= , of_below= of MenuIcons 2, 4 and 6

    You also have to consider the skin you are going to use, because
    some skins (like Torque) won't look nice when buttons are removed.

    There will still be buttons in the Musicplayer and FileBrowser
    to get to the FM-radio. That button (fm.gif) must be replaced with a transparent gif file.

    Have Fun

    Thanks, I'll try it and what about if I want to make these changes in the default skin that comes with it, is it the same idea? What about adding buttons to load Streets and Trips or logoff.
