Do a search for a program called switcher.zip, it is a small area of the screen that you can touch and it will switch between running apps. Like doing Alt - Tab! Works well.
First off, great app - MediaEngine has a great "fit and finish" feel to it that is so important to anyone willing to spend the thousands to put a computer in their car...kudos!
Question is: can MediaEngine be changed to monitor the process list to determine if external apps are running instead of the current method of manually determining if it's running by if MediaEngine was the one to launch it.
My scenario: I set PhoneControl to auto-launch on startup, along with MediaEngine. They coexist peacefully until PhoneControl is put to the forground (ie. incoming call) at which time the only way to get back to MediaEngine is to kill the process and re-launch it.
When I launch PhoneControl from within MediaEngine all is well, but I really need it to auto-launch on startup...ideas?
Thanks!

Although this may come in useful for other purposes, MediaEngine doesn't show up in the alt-tab list once you switch to an external app.![]()
Any of the following would work:
A) MediaEngine to keep track of what is already running using the task manager, and display it's nifty little song control window over apps that were running already
OR
B) MediaEngine to show up in the alt-tab list
OR
C) MediaEngine to auto-launch external apps once it has launched itself.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Edit your PhoneCtl.Config.xml within the MainWindow section as shown:Originally Posted by SJC

and restart PhoCo.
If you now click on the Close (X) button of PhoCo it won't close, it rather will switch back to MediaEngine, in case ME is runnning. If not, PhoCo will shutdown as usual.

Yea I tried that, but it just shuts down PhoneControl anyway...Maybe because MediaEngine doesn't show up in the alt-tab window (no handle available?)?
Anyone had any success with this?
Thanks,

Tried it with ME 2.1.5 so it's supposed to be working.Originally Posted by SJC

WinXP Pro, .Net 1.1, Haven't updated phonecontrol to latest just yet, version is about 3 weeks old.
Thats ok, it should be working anyway.
Two things you can do:
1. get the lastest version
2. ensure, that there is no space in "MediaEngine"
