Talking MediaEngine won't update songs by genre

I noticed that after I installed media engine, and then modified a lot of my genre info (using kazaa lite) in my mp3 collection so it would be more easily accessible from the list by genre section in media engine, it didnt update those lists!! I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling...Still, the same info, no updates!! Any suggestions people?

I had the same problem. you need to change tag details in explorer or dload an editor. (i use mp3 tag tools, free and very good). I also found that once you have changed details u cant just update in ME, you need to click on change folder and just select the same folder again. BTW you need to edit id3v2 details.

I know how to change the actualy genre information if thats what you are talking about. I just use kazaa lite, you can edit the information easily from inside the program by just right clicking on the song and then clicking edit details...Unless there is something somewhere else that I need to change that I dont know about. Assuming that action changes the id3 tags, I cant get the changes to reflect inside ME. You said I need to change the folder and just select the same folder again, inside the setup page presumably? If so, I tried that and still no change in the genre info. Same list of genres (even though I deleted a bunch and moved to other genres), and same songs within each genre. Let me know what you think

I also tried changing tag info in kazaa but this didnt have any effect in ME. The only way i could change info in ME was by using MP3 Tag Tools. But like i said you need to change info under the id3v2 tab, the v1.1 doesnt make any changes. You can also try opening your mp3 folder through my computer and right click on the files and then edit tag, which should also work. I tried this but it wouldnt let me edit until i installed Tag Tools, now i can do it either way. I prefer tag tools because you can change a selection of files at once rather than one by one.

Well I downloaded the util and I must say that I LOVE it. Havent finished organizing my database yet, but as long as ME sees the changes, I would have to say that this was a very good call on your part 323...
