    Question Good CD Ripping Utility?

I am installing my carputer, and looking for a good cd ripping utility (preferably freeware or shareware, but willing to pay if its good)...that will download the Cd/artist/title information from the internet and then create the mp3 files accordingly...so I can put my entire cd collection on a 300gb hard disk in the trunk

what windows are you running? Windows Media Player 10 was released a few weeks ago or so, and its the best by far. The Minimal setting for MP3's is 128kbps (56mb) and you can set it up so that when you put a new cd it doesn't recognise in, it will download the info INSTANTLY, and start ripping it into its own folder and the proper file names. Thats what I'm going to use on my Carputer when done.

I use CDex. It's freeware, and extremely fast. Very nice software.

I like musicmatch juke box cause first it does the least amount of compression I have seen yet. It will rip at 320kbps. I don't like M$ because of you have a cd and rip it, the copyright protekshun might follow over to the mp3 your creating. I COULD BE WRONG, correct me if I am.
second, mmjb will also do cddb so you dont have to type all the album artists, albums name, and tracks. I'm sure most programs do this now. I am just saying why I like mmjb. ALWAYS save your music at 320Kbps if you have the room. It will sound better.
