win98 lite micro and media engine?

I did a search and saw that at least one person had media engine working with win98 lite in micro mode. That was in 2003 though. The guy mentioned something about swapping executables, but did not say what executable he swapped. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or info on how to get these to happily married?

    Thanks,

IMO, if you can, upgrade to windows XP, I have it running in XP just fine, no problems that I can see (except for 2 days it took to setup my MP3s so they can play)

My experience with win 98 (any of them) would go as far as JUST GET RID OF IT, most software today comes out in 2000, ME, NT, XP (the first 3 are not much better)

But, this could be just my system setup, and all systems are different.

    PS

    What system are you running?

I am playing around with 98lite (11 sec boot time). I have run a custom kernel gentoo linux os (9 sec boot time), full xp pro (34 sec boot time), a trimmed down xplite (12sec boot time), and am also working on creating an xp embedded version (instant on - 4 sec boot time). Right now, I am playing with 98lite.
