    The SPDIF input does in fact work as an input and I am able to use the XMPCR as such. I will try the new download for other issues...particular the external GPS mode.

    If you don't mind my asking, which input did you have to select for this, and do you think the difference in sound quality is really worth the cost? Aside from the lackluster selection of rock/alternative music and crappy audio production of the news channels (basically all I listen to anymore is CNN), the sound quality of the music channels taken from the analog output is just pathetic. The lower octave seems to be jacked through the roof, and everything from about 1khz on up just sounds as if there's a magazine or road atlas on top of my tweeter grills.
