Need help setting the XM up.

I am using a TimeTrax Adapter for XM Direct. I tried the xmpcr and xm direct options, and i set the port number in the ini file. whin i load the XM option in media engine all it says is loading list. does media engine work with the timetrax adapter. I am Using windows xp pro.

I don't remember exactly how the time trax adapter is setup, but I have mine connected to an XM commander can that has external power. Whenever I disconnect my car battery I have to run the timetrax software to initialize the XM can. Once it finds the com port, it sends the serial initialization, and jumps to the last station tuned. I then close the timetrax software and everything works fine until the next time the XM Can loses power.

Give it a try, OBTW, you don't need to waste your money registering the timetrax software if you're only going to use it for the serial initialization of the XM can, the unregistered version will do it just fine.

when i do that, it finds the right port, then it does a com loop check. the xm channels still don't load. do you have any idea what settings in need to use

OK I know trhis sounds trivial, but are you sure its finding the right port? Until my last full reinstall of XP mine would sometimes lock on my GPS port (this time I deliberately setup XM on a lower com port than any other USB device so timetrax finds it faster). If so,

Are your VU meters moving at all? are the satellite showing greter than 50% signal? Have you gone into the options menu and clicked on "reload channel listing", close timetrax and reopen it?

its the right port it work with timetrax, XMPC and frodo player, but it doesn't work with media engine

i am not using the timetrax adpter now, i added a serial "rs232" port to my xm direct box. it still works with timetrax but, still doesn't work with the media engine. All I want to do is get XM working in Media Engine, does anyone have any ideas

email me at mdt@joink.com... I've been wanting to work closely with someone with an XM Direct... I know I can get MediaEngine to work PERFECTLY with this unit, as well as the XM Commander but I have neither.

im having the same problem with my XM DIRECT box... it works in Frodo Player Satellite... but in Media Engine all i get is a Com check or something and wont work when i use it...

I've tried to contact CarComp by email and in private messages, and in another xm thread : I'll send him my xmdirect unit if he'll develop and get it working with the front end-> FREE.

I was using the 2.2.9 beta with an external init string to my XM Direct, and it worked fine. (serial to USB connection to XM Unit)

I upgraded to the public beta (2.3 something I tihnk)... I have played with the options and verified in the settings.ini - ME will come back with the "serial Loop" test fine.... but nothing in the chanel lineup.

Im going to play around more with my other serial ports and see if it can get it going....
It seems to work fine with EXEM or Frodo player using either my serial-usb or ethier of my true serial ports on my VIA-EPIAM

It pretty mutch looks like the same problem you described.
