Switch between music and media library w/ keyboard?

Is there a keyboard command that will switch from the player to the library without having to go all the way back to the main screen? I'm using an x10 remote (no touch screen). I only need Media engine for the music and not for GPS or any external apps so the main home screen is just another step for me to go through. If there is a keyboard command then I can easily jump between the media library and player without a bunch of extra steps.

SWMP button will do this - either from remote or keyboard.

Oh, duh, guess I should have read what that button is for. Didn't notice the message box you had there.

One other question relating to the key config, where is the stop key for the keyboard. I want to program Girder with a stop key but it isn't in the key config menu.

There is no 'stop' function as far as I know. The quit function is hard-coded to [esc] by default. By the way, did you check to see if M/E would recognize your remote natively? (Settings>Remote Config>Remote Type>X10 Media Remote)

Yeah, I played around with trying to use it natively but I realized that I still needed Girder in order to control my GPS program (Topo USA). Using Girder was pretty easy since Media Engine responds well to keyboard inputs so it wasn't much of a problem.

In the past I've been suffering with a hodge podge of using Winamp (which I might add hardly responds to any keyboard prompt because of the way it calls it's windows or something) so Media Engine is like a breath of fresh air. Heck, even the Mrs. is going to be happy with this new setup.

Oh, not to nit pick or anything... I know Media Engine was designed for primarily touch screen. When using the onscreen keyboard with a remote it would be nice to be able to use the up/down left/right arrows to navigate through the keyboard and pressing "enter" would select that letter. The way it works now, if you use the remote and navigate through the onscreen keyboard with the arrows it selects every letter as you go through it. At least that's how it's working on my system.

    Overall, great program.

I'll make a note of your comments about the onscreen keyboard in my todo list. Initially we setup the OSK to work navigationally from keyboard input (i.e. the way you need it to), but someone changed that. It should be trivial to add an option to specify how you want the OSK to work.

I programmed the remote to use the swmp button, it switches fine from the player to the media library but when I select a new song from the library ME closes out completely to the desktop. I'm running Win2k on an Epia M solution. The only program that is running in the background is Topo. Any ideas? Wish I could give you more clues then that...

Not a clue here. Can you switch the playlist by using the keyboard directly? Mouse?
