    ME not loading from Hibernation

before you guys say it, i thoroughly searched the forums, even googled....

my problem is, when i shutdown from media engine, it goes into hibernation, like i want. but when i startup again, it doesnt load and im stuck at the desktop. ive tried leaving other windows open and they load back up on startup, so this is just a propblem for media engine. yes, its in the startup folder. it starts up fine from a restart, just not hibernation.

any input would be greatly apreciated!

are you putting media engine in the startup folder? If so, media engine will not load after hibernation... in fact nothing loads in the startup folder under hibernation.

how do you hibernate the computer? If it quits Media Engine before hibernates... of course it's not gonna load media engine after hibernation.

I'm having the same problems. I go into standby not hibernation, but the fix for your problem will be the same for mine probably.

I hit the shutdown button w/ in media engine which puts the computer into standby. When I turn it back in, Media Engine is no longer loaded. I have to manually reload it every time.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

When I started playing around with ME, it did the same thing as all of you are describing both in standby and hibernate modes.

The solution I found was to go back to the home screen of ME and then going into standby/hibernate. Doing it this way first has worked everytime, although it's a bit annoying.

Hopefully, phat will have this fixed in the next update of this awesome prog.

Um, thats the only way I know of to send it into standby/hibernation mode. You have to go to the main screen to hit the "shutdown" button.

I'm trying to understand why your method is any different than mine. Please elaborate.

    Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I set the computer power button to go into hibernate mode. Additionaly, I use a laptop and I setup the system to hibernate in 10 minutes with no activity when the ignition is off using the power options in Windows. Every time when I come back and startup the car and press the laptop power button, it resumes to the ME home screen. It does this with no problems if I remembered to leave ME in the home screen before I got out of my car, otherwise ME doesn't show up if I left it on the GPS screen. If I left it on the mp3 screen, it's still playing mp3's when I return.

I've tried using the ME power button in the top corner but it causes ME to just disappear but leaves the laptop still running. Then I would have to manualy restart in order for ME to be called again automatically.

    hope this clears it up.

That's not the power button. That button closes M/E.

I'll try to look into this as soon as possible, but I've been swamped at work and really haven't had time to work on MediaEngine for a while.

Sorry, I lost internet for while, thats why i havent been responding.

I've been expirimenting and it seems that Media Engine likes to close before going into hibernation. Since I installed a power button in my dashboard, my solution is to set the power button to hibernation, then just hit the power button while in Media Engine. This works, but im dissapointed that i cant just use Media Engine.

Hope that helps some of you, and thanks for all the replys!
