SWMP "broken"?

I had a CIMR 100 hooked up to media engine. The SWMP button worked fine.

I did away with the CIMR 100, and assinged a keystroke to SWMP. When I push the SWMP key, all that happens is the touchscreen menu at the bottom of the page comes up.

A: Is this right and I am missing something important
B: Is this a bug inthe current version that I could get around by going to an older one
C: Did I screw up a setting someplace?

I'm afraid the answer is C, but I'm not sure what it is that's messed up. It sounds like there's something else wrong with your box besides just a messed up setting, but you could try to change your settings.ini, kb.ini and keys.ini to filenames like *.bak and then re-run the setup 'wizard' and see what happens.

Damn. Not the answer I was hoping for (I wanted to hear "yea its a known bug and there is a fix that will only take 30 seconds").

Any ideas??? I completely removed and re-installed media engine and it is doing the same. All other hot keys work fine, it is just SWMP that does not.

I have tried it on 2 different machines now and it did not work on either. One is my regular media machine. The upside is that the 2 machine have very little in common, so it should not be too hard to figure out exactly what is wrong.

Since SWMP does work if I use the mouse to get there (off the menu bar at the bottom), and other hotkeys, including ones that I assing, work, I am assuming that the problem is that something is interfering with the way that the SWMP hotkey is implemented. Is this possible, or is SWMP implemented the same as all the other hotkeys?

I tried "s" and I tried "space".

It works fine when you are listening to music, just not whn you are playing a video.

Over the weekend I installed XP and media engine on an identical PC, fresh install, and it worked fine. So I pulled the HD out of the computer I am having a problem with, put it in anothr machine, deleted all traces of windows from it, put it back in the original machine, reinstalled XP, reinstalled media engine....and it still does not work.

Don't worry about it, phat, I can live without SWMP when videos are playing. It was just driving me nuts because it was working, and I could not figure out what could have happened to make it stop.
