Support Garmin nRoute and Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB

I am planning a carputer but already own some components that I use with my laptop when I travel on road trips.

Specifically I already own a Garmin CityNavigator DVD along with nRoute, the assoicated PC program, as well as both a GPS18PC (serial, NEMA) and GPS18USB (Gramin proprietary) receivers

I also own a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB (both TV and FM tuner) along with its supporting program.

Likewise, I have ann XMDirect with a cable from "Hybrid" that sends/receives controls via serial or serial->usb and audio via line-in.

Oh yes, the base computer is a 1.4GHz, 2GB, 80GB HDD laptop and I will add the necessary power/shutdown components, USB hubs, etc.

I plan to simply take audio-out and split it 6 ways (Left F/R, Right F/R, SubW) to send the the manufactures external amp. While I loose fade, this is not an issue.

My questions are:

1. Can in intergate the Garmin GPS program and receiver into ME? If so, then briefly, How? Note that this may be temporary as my new 2nd car has it's own Nav system and so I don't need to purchase maps from multiple manufactures, I will centralize on the new one which is from Denso. I would like to hope that their PC program can be integrated.

2. Can I integrate the WinTV-PVR-USB into ME? If so, then briefly, How?

3. While I find mention of XM support I find no documentaion on integrating it so I must ask can I integrate the XMDirect with ME and how do I do that other than connecting the USB and audio cables?

4. I'm not too worried about the programming and configuration part as I've been in this business 45 years, but the audio side is all new so I would appreciate comment on my audio integration "solution".

Download and read the manual, I'm pretty sure it's covered in there as well as a few of your other questions.

Sorry, but no. Currently the only tuner device supported is the D-Link USB FM tuner. I'd like to port over to radiator to control the tuner at some point, but until donations grow to several grand a month I'll probably have to keep my day job.

There are no plans for TV (video) tuner support.

XMDirect is supported, nothing else is needed but the necessary drivers for the USB>Serial device.

You may have issues with volume control using 6ch output, but it should be easily remedied by tinkering with the 'Change main and wave / only wave' checkbox in Settings>Appearance>Preferences.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Since I really like the WinTV thing, could it's supporting program be run as an external app?

On the other hand, since I also have a TV-only WinTV, maybe I'll get the USB-Radio for FM (also AM???) and use your support for it and figure out a way to run the WinTV program.
