    subscript out of range error

    Hi,

I tried to launch the Mediacar-application but I get one of those VB-array error mesages subscript out of range.
What can be wrong, ran the installation and tried to start the app without modifying any ini-files.

reinstalled on another pc everything worked fine...

    great!

Okay, I have searched and searched and this post is exactly what I was looking for, except it lacked an answer.... a few other posts also mentioned the

    "Subscript out of range" error

but the fix was never really detailed... I get the impression it has something to do with ini files and where it is looking for items....

Is there a detailed explaination of what ini files to worry about and what to do to them?

Seems the the program should have a "setup utility" that you can set all that, and maybe it does, but it you can't get it to run???? Hummmm

Any info would be most appreciated, thanks in advance.

I occasionaly get this same error when My soundcard fails to initialize correctly. It is a Soundblaster Extigy, and usually a reboot will fix it for me. Double check all your sound-card settings.

Good point MeaGT... actually since I installed a new hard drive my sound card is not working...... can't get a driver to work for the cheap sh_t SE Asia knock off sound card....

I will work with it, it did work before the Hard Drive change out.... so just must be a driver issue....

And, No Chris, no change of skins... I have yet to actually have the program run... but I will keep that in mind

To both of you thanks for the ideas...

I think its a sound card problem.

I tried testing on a computer with NO sound card, and I get the same error.

Just tried installing mediacar on a fresh winXP / via M10000 and got the same error. It disappeared after installing the sound-drivers.

In other words, I agree to the conclusion...

I originally got this error on a machine with no sound card installed. Swiped one from another box, popped it in, and got RR/MediaCar up and running!

If you get the error: "Subscript out of range", check your sound card and/or drivers.
