Thread: Feature Request: Shutdown on battery power / Hibernation support in shutdown menu

I know a few people use laptops as their carputers, so why not be able to use the battery to it's fullest

There was a thread about this in Software about a month ago, this is frodobaggins' post, with links to some source code that will work

Would it be possible for you to integrate this, and when the laptop goes onto battery power, it gives you the option to cancel a shutdown, that will just stop the timer, rather than this source that will actually close the program!



Also, would it be possible to add an option to hibernate the PC, mine hibernates/resumes about 4x faster than shutting down Do we really need both "Power Off" and "Shutdown" options in the shutdown menu, as they both do the same thing, right! Could one be changed to Hibernate

Put this program in your startup folder, this is what it does

starts a timer, checks every 5 seconds the power state,
if it goes on battery, it suspends, it also turns the interval to 60 seconds
when you resume from standby, the prog should detect power, it then
changes the interval back to 5 seconds and monitors again

I don't have a laptop to test on but it should work.
