Good error message!

As far as I know, coyote only does the default skin so if it works with that and not the other skins then it's not a Mediacar bug, just the other skin makers need to update their skins. You gotta feel for them..it's hard work keeping up with Coyote!!

I am aware of the error with Bloodboil and Spaced Out, and am trying at the moment to get everything updated and working! coyote is a pure coding machine and it's VERY difficult to keep up with all the updates!!

2. touchscreen usage
I use a touchscreen to control MediaCar and since the mouse cursor stays where I last touched the screen, the last button I used remains in MouseOver state with the ToolTip shown until I click (touch) somewhere else.
I personally would prefer it if there would be no MouseOver state and no ToolTips when I use the Touchscreen.
Since the 'hide mouse' option makes only sense to touchscreen users you could combine it with this option or consider an additional option like 'touchscreen mode' if the 'hide mouse' option doesn't necessarily imply a touchscreen...

3. button functionality
When you click the up or down buttons somewhere (playlist, browser, ...) repediately very fast, it only accepts every second click. I am a programmer myself and had that problem already in one of my programs. Two fast clicks are processed as a doubleclick so when you write the same code in a doubleclick on a button as you do in a singleclick, it should work.

4. file extensions
Two character extensions (like *.xm) still don't work. I tried the extension 'xm' and 'xm ' (without and with space as third character).

5. music player
The currently played song which should have yellow font (with standard skin) sometimes has white font like the other songs. I noticed this when loading a new playlist from browser and it starts with the first song and also when I start mediacar and it changes into audio player because of 'auto launch module: last used' setting.

6. keyboard list navigation
Pressing the up or down button repediately very fast in a playlist or in the browser doesn't work the first few key hits. It remains on the same list item. But after some hits the marker starts to move normally.

For the skin problem, there is no change between the 1.8.5 and the 1.8.5.2 then normally a skin who work on the 1.8.5 should also work with 1.8.5.2, give me the error message.

Oops, I forgot to paste the message...anyway, here it is:

I expected no difference between 1.8.5 and 1.8.5.2 skin handling. I just wanted to say that I used the skins that were made for 1.8.5 and not for a previous version.

hi coyote..

you're a programming god!! :-) i really love mediacar!!

i tested it and it worked great.. now i bought a external USB soundcard for 5.1 dolby surround support! :-) i want to use it in my car.. *hehe*

but now, if i'm using this external soundcard and i want to open mixer, mediacar will be closen without any error! do you have any idea why this happen??? ;-( i want to use normal radio over the line in and i need the mixer to control it...

I'm having a similar problem with my M-Audio Sonica USB sound card that I just installed. When I launch MediaCar i just get a subscript out of range error. I'm guessing this is due to the fact that this device doesn't have all of the devices in the volume control panel that MediaCar expects. When I open up the volume control panel I just see adjustments for Wave, SW Synth and CD Player. I'll attach some screen captures of what I'm talking about. I sure would like to beable to use this sound card!

Has anyone noticed, that in the audio player when you play cd's you have the cd icon, but when you play files from harddrive you don't get the folder icon. Its in the skin but never displays.

I just noticed this because the skin I'm working on really needs these icons.

Yeah, i've noticed this too. I'm pretty sure it used to do this in an older version (1.3 or something) but it seemed to disappear!!

I'm having a strange problem. Don't know if it's MediaCar fault but any advice will be appreciated: I have Mappoint 2004, when I use MediaCar with Mappoint GPS, it lauches ok, shows the Europe Map, and the top bar reports correct longitude and latitude. The thing is, if I change the mode to any flavour of "Show pos", the system hangs (it does a lot of HDD noise and finally hangs). Now, if I press Ctrl+Alt+Del and close Mappoint, MediaCar starts responding again. I have tried everything from changing the GPS com port to updating video drivers. Any ideas?

System:
King Embedded Machine v2
Celeron 400Mhz 64Mb RAM 6.4Gb HD
Video: Chips & Technologies 69000
Audio: ESS Solo-1
GPS: Fortuna U2 USB

I've got another strange problem!

Everytime I exit the GPS module it saves my location as a push-pin. So when I go back into GPS I have more than one location icon! The only way to get rid of the extra icons, I've found, is to right click them and cut.

MediaCar V1.852
MapPoint 2002

Going to re-install MediaCar to see if that cures it.
