I can exit MediaCar and re-launch it and it works fine, therefore it appears that the Earthmate driver reloaded properly out of hibernation. Is there anyway to make embedded Mappoint GPS work out of hibernation?
Are you using the USB to serial drivers for the Earthmate? I had the same problem with Earthmate using the USB to serial-it's the drivers problem not Mediacar. I even built a custom USB cable so that the receiver would get constant power, but this didn't fix the problem. I bought the serial cable from Delorme to replace the USB and don't have any hibernation problems any longer now that I've gone serial.

I just ordered my cable... Thanks for the info....

Do you give your Earthmate power all the time or just from ACC when the ignition is on? Basically can you leave the Earthmate plugged in or does it pull too much power?

Well that's a good question. I don't believe it's constantly powered because I don't see the light on the Earthmate staying on after the power is shut off. The cable comes with a cigarette plug to power the unit. I plugged this into a cig adapter that I have behind my monitor. The other cig adapters in my truck have constant power-so I'm guessing that one would too, but I'd have to tear into my dash to verify. It may be that power is there but the gps receiver doesn't use it when computers not running. Sorry that I couldn't give you a better answer.

    I get this error..

I am new to this software and this forum. I have searched for the answer to this problem and havn't found it so here it goes. I get this error

    Error Number: 4000
Method "~" of object "~" failed

    Debug information
    MEDIACAR.Frm_Mappoint_GPS.Form_Load

and then it runs the program embeded but no GPS data. mappoint/GPS works fine on it's own. I have a Deluo USB GPS and MP 2004

    checked com..

yup, the port is set correctly. I can get the gps to work when running the MP04 by it self. but when I try to emmbed the maps into MediaCar I get that error.

I reinstalled both apps and still the same problem. I take it no one else has seen this unless there comport is set incorectly. My Delou picks up com 6 so I have the port in MediaCar set to 6.

    Thanks Guys

I get that same problem but I am not missing fonts. Anyhow a new problem:

Epia 10k, 512 megs pc2700 , win xp pro and GPS prorams

When I installed Media Car it would work fine with the default skin then when I switched over to that brushed metal skin I get the error message as above AND for some strange reason my gps programs won't recognize my gps receiver anymore. I have copilot 2003 and Street atlas 2004 with the rand mcnally receiver. Once I uninstalled MediaCar and rebooted everything was fine.

    Coyote..holla back.
    Mine needs to be updated.

    losing setting between skin selection

    Someone might have reported this:

In the setup sceen, you would lose settings to each skin if you switch between them. It seems MC setup will reset the setting of a skin when you switch to another skin. The only way I found to keep the settings of each skin is to exit and run setup again for a different skin.
