    One thing I have noticed...

    No Mute Button?

Would it be easy to add one?

    Accessible from all screens.

    Cheers

Try using girder and the serial plugin (the readme pretty much explains what to do) i used to use com-port winamp control but changed to this because there is so much more power in girder, its pretty easy to map serial keys to send a shortcut key to media car assuming there is a shortcut key for the command u wanna peform in media car

Heres an idea, i use the winamp "jump" function a LOT, so anyway when i have my touchscreen in i wont want to be using a keyboard or anything, so mayb a little "jump to" button in the mp3 player and a little keyboard comes up so u can search for a song or a few songs.

Dunno how easy it would be to implement, the way we did it on our program was to tell winamp to write the current playlist to a file, then we just searched the file for the string, returned the results and when selected told winamp to play the track number of the file selected, there are possibly easier ways but this one worked.

Anyone else find this useful, or is it just me??

(Program me and my mate made was winamp control for my sony erricson t68i if anyone was going to ask)

Doh! there are both the same for me, no wonder I didn't see a difference.

Would you setup an "ALBUM" Code for from the ID3 tag, so that the "PLAYLIST" Code can be manually replaced with the Album code, if desired? Not everyone might want this.

    thanks

    Hi!
Maybe this has already been discussed or implemented:
Is it possible to include in the shutdown screen a choice to shut down MediaCar and send windows directly to Hybernate. If this is already implemented, could somebody tell me how?

Whenever you release a new version, I typically remove some modules that I don't use from the On and Off Main Menu skin's JPGs (like Radio and GPS) and then rearrange the remaining icons.

I also delete the Yin/Yang from the off page, so that the Yin/Yang icon only shows when my mouse goes over it's location. I find this "stealth icon" keeps the main menu a bit cleaner.

Anyway, I have absolutely no graphics design experience or software, so I load up the JPGs in MS Paint and cut/paste from other backgrounds and then re-save the skins as jpeg, but I get some artifacts from the re-compression to JPG.

I am wondering what is the source file type for the jpg skins, and would you make them available, so that I (we) have one less image conversion? You could make them a separate download on the sit. If not, that ok.

    Drogon, your thoughts?

    Thanks

how about during setup (or in the config menu), options (or checkboxes) that select which sections of mediacar you do/do not want.

For example, I dont have a fm tuner card or a gps antenna. therefore I would like to uncheck these boxes so it isnt shown in the menu............

This isnt very important at all, but it would be nice. So if it will screw up skins etc. then dont worry about it

    Thanks

that would be nice in th long run, but from the looks of it, coyote has his hands full, and I would rather him spend his time on the embedded DVD, GPS and radio, ie. core CarPC functions, rather than an installation routine.

I'd like a "performance" version with an OBD2 Icon. I do not need the radio Icon. I foresee different versions of MediaCar for different users' needs.
