Coyote, are you using the shellexecute api for this ?
Maybe an option to set the default directory would fix his problem ?
i have tried every option avalible in the setup. i still can't run apps inside of media car. The result is always the same no matter if i check or uncheck the embedded check box. The apps run if i open the program outside of mediacar while it's still running. The GPS software i'm using is Routis. Everytime i open it inside of mediacar, it tells me that my soundfile are corrupted and stops. But if i click on the start button and open Routis, everything works fine. Coyote, is there a way u can just make the Button act like a little shortcut to the apps and not have the embedded screen come on?
-TIA

No, the problem with ShellExecute and ShellExecuteEx API is that she don't return an exploitable Handle to the launched application, the simple shell command from VB do this but don't let the choice of the default directory.Originally Posted by frodobaggins
Now I use CreateProcess API who give me all that I need, I can define the default folder and it returns all handles that I need for embed and resize the application window.
let all know to me if everything works well now with the V1.8.2 for external app's.

Works with NetStumbler!! Whoo hoo!
Now all we need is a way for two programs to listen to the gps data at the same time! Hint, Hint![]()
I think that there is programs that can handle the serial port and despatches this on two new virtual com ports.Originally Posted by Laidback

Yes, there are! I could even write one myself, but I was just thinking it would be better if it was 'built in'......Originally Posted by coyote
Then again, as you can't use/see the GPS app and an external program at the same time, there is no point!! Never mind.![]()
